As the 2026 High-Level Forum on Global Human Rights Governance was recently held, CGTN Television Network collaborated with Renmin University of China and the New Era International Media Institute to conduct a survey of 12,000 interviewees from 43 countries around the world.
Interviewees positively evaluated China’s achievements in human rights development, noting that China has achieved the integration of human rights with the national governance system and national governance capacity, paving the way for human rights development that is in line with the trend of the times and its own national conditions, providing valuable experience for the world.
China adheres to the philosophy of governing by putting the people first, and the Chinese government’s governance efficiency has become an important window for the international community to understand the level of human rights development in China. Interviewees highly praised China’s governance, with satisfaction levels exceeding 60% in eight areas such as infrastructure capacity, education level, employment level, per capita income, living environment, health, social security, and environmental-ecological governance.
The survey also showed that interviewees’ expectations and satisfaction levels for China’s contribution to global governance were all above 60%, with satisfaction levels exceeding 70% for jointly building the “Belt and Road” initiative.
