Pursat Province: On Saturday, May 13, 2026, Mr. Lech Saphirin, Deputy District Governor, a high representative of the Acting Governor of Krakor District, led a joint operation to suppress natural resource crimes and seize two illegal timber sites in Chheu Tom and Svay Sar communes, Krakor District, Pursat Province.
The operation was carried out after a tip-off from a citizen who loved natural resources, who reported the location of a hidden illegal timber stockpile. After receiving the information, the park rangers of Phnom Aural Wildlife Sanctuary collaborated with the Krakor District Unified Command Team to inspect and crack down on both locations.
As a result of the law enforcement, the authorities seized a total of 175 pieces of sawn timber, equivalent to 14,920 cubic meters. All illegal timber was transported and stored at Pursat Provincial Hall for further legal procedures.
The officials and district authorities thanked the citizens for their cooperation in actively providing information, which is an important factor in protecting natural resources, and stated that the police force will continue to patrol. and suppress all natural resource crimes within its jurisdiction without exception.
