Phnom Penh: Dr. Kao Thach, the Royal Government Delegate in Charge of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB), and his colleagues, on the evening of June 14, 2026, visited a straw mushroom farm that is producing quality and safe mushrooms for consumers.

The farm, called Mukompul Farm, is located on the main road (Me Teuk Koy), Svay Amphoe Village, Svay Amphoe Commune, Mukompul District, Kandal Province. It was established in early 2026 and is currently cultivating straw mushrooms in 30 sheds.

During the inspection, Dr. Dang visited the raw material steaming plant and the nursery and encouraged the top farm owners who are cultivating organic straw mushrooms to further increase their productivity as the local market is in high demand, especially with the growing trend of supporting local products that are purely the work of Cambodian farmers.

Dr. Kao Thach advised workers and managers of top farms to work hard to cultivate and maintain mushrooms properly, according to phytosanitary standards, to ensure organic straw mushroom products without the use of banned chemicals.

According to the farm manager, ARDB TV online learned about the mushroom cultivation production chain in the 30 houses, producing 60 to 90 kilograms of straw mushrooms per day to supply the wholesale market in Phnom Penh at a reasonable price, which can reduce imports from abroad and create agri-food products for the Cambodian people.

The above manager further stated that Muek Kop Farm is an eco-smart farm that focuses on sustainable agriculture and uses raw materials near the farm or collected from neighboring areas with the goal of reducing agricultural waste in the community. In addition, the raw materials for mushroom cultivation, such as straw, are composted after use, so there is nothing to throw away as waste.
