Phnom Penh: The Royal Government, led by the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, will make Cambodia fully responsible for training and supplying all types of automotive labor from the end of 2027 onwards, in order to ensure an adequate supply of labor in line with actual needs and the local production chain.

Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, said at the ceremony to celebrate the 9th National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Day 2026 on the morning of June 15 that through the establishment of the Cambodia Automotive Excellence Center (ACE-C), in collaboration with the Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) of Australia and RMA Cambodia, the Cambodia Automotive Excellence Center has been established. To train Cambodians to become highly qualified automotive mechanics and repair experts.

He continued: “By launching these automotive centers, Cambodia will have ownership over the training and supply of Cambodian labor. All types of vehicles from the end of 2027 onwards, which is a pride of our Cambodia, and the ministry will work hard to cooperate with partners and will add private companies to ensure ownership and supply of labor to meet the actual needs of a production chain.

In addition, in 2027, the Ministry of Labor will also receive support from the Asian Development Bank to equip the Kampong Thom Provincial Technical Training Institute with equipment and teaching materials for a skill related to cashew nut production, which can increase the added value of cashew nuts in Cambodia, in line with the development and promotion of cashew nut production in Cambodia.
