Phnom Penh: On the occasion of his high invitation to preside over the opening ceremony of the 39th World Girl Guides and Scouts Convention (WAGGGS) and the 42nd Annual Meeting of The Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS) on the 16th at the Sokha Siem Reap Hotel, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, said that the advancement of women is the advancement of the nation and the strengthening of the world’s common future.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that the Royal Government of Cambodia has continued to give high priority to human capital development, education, health promotion, social health, creating opportunities and promoting the role of women and youth in national development.
Moreover, the Prime Minister believes that a well-educated girl Safe, confident, and able to participate in society can not only change their lives, but can also help change their families, their communities, and their countries.
In this context, His Majesty the King said that the Kaya Riddhi Narayan movement plays a very important role. Kaya Riddhi Narayan is not only a program to showcase youth activities, but also a platform to train discipline, leadership, volunteerism, teamwork, a sense of responsibility, courage, and compassion in serving society. The movement has shown that leadership can begin with small actions, such as helping friends, respecting the law, serving the community, protecting the environment, caring for the vulnerable, and contributing to the harmony of the community.
Samdech Thib Dei Hun Manet said, “These small actions, if done with sincerity and consistently, can also become a great force for the entire society. From girls who actively serve society to women who lead in leadership, the advancement of women is the advancement of the nation and the strengthening of the world’s common future.”
In addition, the Samdech Thib Dei emphasized that Cambodia joins the international community in emphasizing the importance of girls and young women not sitting around waiting for the future, but also that girls and young women are active participants in building the future, starting today.
