The Joint Investigation Team continues to find two more locations in Phnom Penh containing goods imported from Thailand.

Phnom Penh: Ms. Daw Samphor, spokesperson for the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration, said that the 14 district administrations, in cooperation with a joint force from the Phnom Penh Police Headquarters, the General Department of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, with legal coordination from the Deputy Prosecutor attached to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, on June 15, 2026, inspected a total of 12 large and small warehouses in the area suspected of importing, storing, circulating, and distributing frozen products originating from Thailand.

According to Ms. Daw Samphos on June 16, through this operation, the joint authorities found 2 locations in Sen Sok and Kambol districts that were suspicious.

These include: 1. The food storage warehouse of Baker Kersmeet Co., Ltd. located on concrete road, Khmuun Village, Khmuun Sangkat, has 2 cabinets: a refrigerator and a freezer. The joint task force found goods in the refrigerator with customs declarations, imported legally, originating from 2 countries: China and Vietnam. In particular, in the freezer, the task force found 91 types of miscellaneous goods imported from Thailand without proper documentation. With the coordination of legal procedures from the Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, the joint task force decided to temporarily close the dry storage facility that stores mixed Thai goods and sent the owner’s representative to the Phnom Penh Police Station for further questioning according to the procedure.

With the permission of the Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, the joint working group decided to close the location of the Bicheng packaging room at 5:50 PM and wait for the technical team to come and inspect it further.

Please note that from June 10 to 15, the joint task force inspected a total of 131 large and small warehouses, found and temporarily closed 15 warehouses with frozen products and goods illegally imported from Thailand, and brought a total of 16 people involved to the Phnom Penh Police Station for further procedures.
