Phnom Penh: On Monday morning, June 15, 2026, the national campaign “Say No to Fake News” Phase 2 continued its active campaign at Toul Tompong High School, with approximately 2,000 students participating in a joyful atmosphere, with the determination of young students to join the fight against fake news in the digital age.

Invited to preside over the ceremony, Mr. Tep Asnarith, Undersecretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Information, promoted the principle of good habits: “3 Do’s, 1 Protect” to protect young people, their schools, families and communities from the dangers of fake news.

The Undersecretary of State explained the meaning of the principle of good habits “3 Don’ts, 1 Protect” as follows: The first Don’t is not to believe, that is, if you see strange information, don’t believe it immediately, stop and think for a while.

The second Don’t is not to share, that is, don’t be too quick to think, take your time Take 15 seconds to verify the source clearly. If it’s unclear… don’t share! The third is to be careful, that is, to protect your personal password and absolutely not click on strange links from unknown sources.

The first protection is that we together protect the community by using the armor of “information literacy” and knowing how to find only official sources of information that provide true and reliable information.

On that occasion, Mr. Tep Asnarith educated young students to clearly understand the value and important role of the Cambodian media in the digital age.

The campaign helped students see clearly the central role of state and private media in ensuring the right to information, and that state and private media have been actively using social media to provide true, timely, and trustworthy information to citizens across the country.

The Undersecretary of State urged the students: “Please abandon the habit of ‘passive use’ that is easy to believe and vulnerable to harm, and turn to strengthening your critical thinking skills to become intelligent ‘driving forces’ in managing technology for the benefit of learning and increasing your resilience to the influence of fake news.” »
On that occasion, representatives of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports, teachers, and students of Toul Tompong High School announced their support for the Ministry of Information’s “Say No to Fake News Campaign” Phase 2 and vowed to change their behavior to become “information security agents” to jointly protect information security and prevent the spread of fake news and online scams that are threatening national social order in this era of modern technology.

Please note that the second phase of the campaign under the theme “Strengthening Information Literacy and Media for Information Security” was officially launched on May 18, 2026 at Samdech Hun Sen Bun Rany Wat Phnom High School, under the chairmanship of Mr. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information.
