Phnom Penh: In a meeting on April 27, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, Minister of the Ministry of Interior, gave instructions to units under the Ministry of Interior to create a Facebook page separate from the official Facebook page of their unit in order to be prepared to respond and update news or provide information to relevant individuals or the public in the event of any incident.
This was stated by Mr. Rain Ratanak, spokesman for Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha.
According to Mr. Rain Ratanak, the capital, provincial administrations and police stations are also the same. If they do not yet have a page as stated above, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed to create one together with the task force in charge to respond quickly to the public. This arrangement is to create clarity, separate from the organization’s page that broadcasts general news.
The Deputy Prime Minister considers the page and this working group to be the frontline group to help alleviate and end the doubts of stakeholders or the public when something happens in society, especially when public opinion is very interested.
