Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Tourism and the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration have taken immediate action to resolve the issue of Japanese tourists who reported irregularities at a massage parlor in Phnom Penh, as well as to find and recover the lost money and return it to the Japanese foreigner.

With the high-level guidance from Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, Mr. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, and Mr. Lt. Gen. Chuon Narin, Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Phnom Penh Police, and in compliance with the high and honorable leadership of His Majesty King Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, on ensuring the safety of international tourists, on the morning of April 27, 2026, the Daun Penh District Police Inspectorate is preparing a case to send a man, the owner of a massage parlor, involved in collusion with a female employee who stole 20,000 yen (Japanese yen) from a foreign tourist to court for legal action after the authorities investigated and recovered the lost money and returned it to the Japanese foreign national.

In particular, two female employees are absconding who stole money from Japanese guests who came to receive massage services on April 24, 2026 at 23:00 at house number 51, street 172, Sangkat Chey, Khan Daun Penh. Currently, the authorities are investigating and arresting them to follow the procedure.
