The Ministry of Rural Development organizes a workshop on “Using new technologies in the field of rural road infrastructure development”

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Rural Development on April 27, 2026, organized a workshop on “Using New Technologies in Rural Road Infrastructure Development” at Tonle Bassac 2 Restaurant under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mr. Chhay Riththi Sen, Minister of the Ministry of Rural Development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Chhay Rithsen highlighted that this important workshop was organized with the aim of disseminating and increasing knowledge among technical officers of the ministry, technical officers of the capital and provincial rural development departments, and project implementers on the construction of quality rural roads, especially the study, research, and testing of new technologies that are in line with current trends and contexts that respond to the current depletion of raw materials.

At the same time, this workshop is also a capacity building in implementing the Ministry’s first priority program, which focuses on improving the quality and maintenance of rural roads in a sustainable manner to connect and integrate the economic, social, and cultural sectors between rural areas, towns, and cities, as well as to connect various business activities to be more vibrant and active, which is the foundation for increasing family income in rural areas in line with the slogan “There is a road, there is hope” and also contributes significantly to boosting the efficiency of the logistics sector.

The workshop focused on presenting 9 key topics: 1: Concrete Block and Pave Products, 2: Fiberglass Rebar, 3: Bridge Construction, 4: Precast Concrete Products, 5: Asphalt Products, 6: Cold Mix Asphalt, 7: Soil Quality Improvement Techniques, 8: Construction Solutions for New and Renovated Bridges, and 9: Rural Infrastructure and Transportation Development.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the workshop, Mr. Chhay Rithsen, Minister of Rural Development, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all the company representatives who presented new technologies to the entire workshop.

In addition, the Minister also expressed his appreciation and high appreciation to the leaders, technical officers, development partners, contractors and all relevant parties who participated in the one-day workshop. Through the above 9 presentations, the Minister strongly hopes that technical officers, development partners, contractors, and all relevant parties will use the techniques and experiences gained from this workshop to develop rural infrastructure and communications better, with high responsibility and professionalism, which can provide proud results to serve the needs of people in rural areas.

Finally, the Minister invited the honor of presenting letters of appreciation to the representatives of the companies that presented to the workshop.
