Preah Vihear Province: On the afternoon of April 27, 2026, Mr. Chat Suon, the head of Palhal Sangkat, led a solemn religious ceremony and traditional service to pray for happiness and prosperity for the people living and traveling through Palhal Sangkat, Preah Vihear City.
The ceremony was organized in a traditional Khmer style with the participation of the village head, deputy village head, community leaders, and many citizens.
During the ceremony, Mr. Pisit, a resident, was invited to participate in the program and learned about the religious service and the calming of troubles and troubles. The program began at 1:45 p.m. with the ceremony of invoking 10 monks to chant the mantras of the preah vihear. And shower blessings. The main point of this ceremony is the ritual of mock death, which is an ancient belief to ward off misfortune and all kinds of evil spirits that occur in order to turn bad luck into good fortune.
Mr. Pisit continued: According to the supernatural beliefs and dedication to the ancestors who protect the land, after the Buddhist ceremony at 3:00 pm, the program continued with the Hindu and village-based rituals, namely the ritual of making a statue of a monk to invite the ancestors who protect the land and water in that place to come to worship.
At the same time, there are also preparations to build a hut for prayer as a place of worship for people from near and far who travel through this area to pray for happiness according to their wishes.
Similarly, according to Mr. Chat Suon, the head of Palhal Sangkat, stated that the organization of this ceremony is not only to ask for local happiness, but also to pray for all citizens throughout Cambodia to experience happiness and avoid various dangers, especially those who travel through the territory of Preah Vihear province.
The head of the Sangkat continued: This ceremony has shown the close solidarity between local authorities and citizens in preserving traditional customs and increasing the spirit of peace in the community.
