Phnom Penh: Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, Minister of the Ministry of Interior, on April 27, 2026, issued a directive on promoting 100 percent condom use to jointly end AIDS from sexual partners.

According to the Royal Government’s circular on promoting 100 percent condom use to prevent HIV and AIDS, the Ministry of Interior has instructed units under the Ministry of Interior to continue to promote the effectiveness of 100 percent condom use in preventing the transmission of HIV from sexual partners.

The ministry continued to continue to promote the risk of HIV and dispel the misconception that there is no more AIDS in Cambodia, and to encourage everyone to join together to end AIDS by implementing thorough preventive measures, such as 100 percent condom use. Encourage key people working in entertainment services who are suspected of having HIV to urgently go for an HIV test to receive timely medical care.

The ministry added that it will ensure that condoms are widely stored and distributed in necessary places, especially in entertainment service facilities such as bars, beer gardens, hotels, guesthouses or any place where sex is suspected, etc. Condoms are not subject to prosecution, except for the use of condoms in the commission of actual sex trafficking crimes.
