Cambodia, Thailand reaffirm commitment to ceasefire, peaceful resolution of border dispute

Phnom Penh: Cambodia and Thailand reaffirmed their commitment to a ceasefire, peaceful resolution of border disputes, and full implementation of the Joint Declaration of the 3rd Special Meeting of the General Boundary Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Facebook page, “On April 27, 2026, on the occasion of the ASEAN-EU Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The two sides discussed frankly the border situation, including confidence-building measures, and the broader aspects of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to the ceasefire Peaceful resolution of border disputes and full implementation of the Joint Declaration of the 3rd Special Meeting of the General Boundary Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025.

Mr. Prak Sokhonn emphasized that achieving lasting peace between our two countries, which contributes to peace, stability and unity in ASEAN requires genuine commitment to and full respect for international law, the ASEAN Charter, as well as all existing treaties and agreements that bind us.
