Phnom Penh: For 2026, this is the second year, with 55 enterprises being evaluated and selected to receive the “One Enterprise is a Healthy Community” award under the distinguished presence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, who personally presented the award to the winners.

This program is targeted at companies, factories, and enterprises in the textile, garment, footwear, and travel and bag sectors, under the initiative of the Royal Government through the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training. So what is the “One Enterprise, One Peaceful Community” program?

The “One Enterprise, One Peaceful Community” program was officially established in 2024. To promote harmony in professional relationships, to create a culture of legal compliance, to strengthen the effectiveness of out-of-court labor dispute resolution mechanisms, to strengthen the implementation of the social security regime, and to increase labor productivity in Cambodia.

To be eligible to compete in this program, companies, factories, and enterprises in the textile, garment, and footwear industries must have good working conditions, meaning companies that have received a certificate of compliance with working conditions from the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training. According to the conditions, the enterprise does not use serious forms of child labor, has good professional relations, refers to enterprises that have a mechanism for resolving labor disputes at the enterprise level and a social dialogue mechanism.

In addition, there must be occupational safety and health, referring to enterprises that do not have occupational hazards and have achievements in combating AIDS and drugs in the workplace. There is compliance with the social security regime, referring to enterprises that properly implement their obligations under the law on social security. The enterprise must have a policy to promote the use of disabled workers, referring to enterprises that employ disabled workers in excess of 3 percent of the total number of workers. There should be a program to improve work productivity for enterprises that implement skills training programs and improve the capabilities of workers.

Furthermore There should be a social responsibility program for companies that participate in supporting the process of kindergartens and community kindergartens, have green work programs and encourage the use of plastic bags, as well as participate in other social activities.

Mr. Un Dara The President of the Cambodian Workers’ Union, Polwe Kamkar, considered the program to promote harmony in professional relations in the labor sector, which is in line with the government’s national policy to develop the labor sector in Cambodia.

He said: “I fully support this program because it encourages business owners, factories, and the garment and bag manufacturing sector to strive to improve the working environment and compliance with international standards.”
He continued that this program is a continuation of the tripartite mechanism and the promotion of social dialogue to achieve comprehensive and comprehensive consultation, which is the need of tripartite and relevant parties in the labor sector, to help transform a company into a happy community.
It should be noted that The winning factories in the competition will be announced on International Labor Day, which is celebrated on May 1st every year. The winners will receive incentives such as three levels of awards, certificates, and exemption from simple inspections for a period of 1 to 3 years, depending on the level of the award received.
