The Ministry of Public Works and a Japanese company signed a contract to provide consulting services on the construction project of the Koh Khsach Thanla Bridge in Saang District.

Phnom Penh: On Friday, May 8, 2026, Mr. Peng Purna, Minister of Public Works and Transport, presided over the signing ceremony of the contract between the Project Management Unit for the Construction of the Koh Khsach Tanla Bridge (KTB) and the consortium of companies CHODAI Co., LTD (JAPAN), with the participation of company representatives, His Excellency, the leaders of the ministry, related ministries and many civil servants.

The ceremony was held to sign a contract for the provision of consultancy services for the Feasibility Study (FS), Detailed Engineering Design (DEDs) and Construction Supervision (CS) between the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and a consortium of technical consultants led by CHODAI CO., LTD (Japan) for the Koh Khsach Tanla Bridge (KTB) construction project.

The Koh Khsach Tanla Bridge construction project is approximately 280 meters long and the construction of a connecting road from the bridgehead is approximately 276 meters long.

This project is important in crossing the Bassac River to connect Koh Khsach Thanla to National Road 21, aiming to improve the transport and logistics network of agriculture and promote sustainable economic growth in Cambodia.

The project will connect and increase the choice of all-season transportation modes, both dry and rainy, which will reduce transportation costs (especially transporting agricultural products to market), improve economic growth and development, contributing to the development of Koh Khsach Thanla as an agricultural and agricultural production center, and provide safe and convenient transportation for people to and from Koh Khsach Thanla to Phnom Penh.
