Phnom Penh: Acting Prime Minister of Cambodia Neth Savoeun said that currently, in the issue of online scams, relevant authorities in Cambodia have jointly solved a lot.

During a meeting, courtesy call and working discussions with Mr. Steven Pang Chee Wee, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Cambodia, on the morning of May 8, 2026, Mr. Neth Savoeun revealed what the Royal Government of Cambodia has been working hard to promote development and ensure security, order and stability, while Cambodia is currently fighting online scams by directly cooperating with Singapore and countries in the region.

He continued that Cambodia has solved major problems with online scams, and most of the criminals are foreigners.
Mr. Neth Savoeun also stated that online scams are also a global problem and a transnational crime that requires further cooperation.

In response, the Singaporean Ambassador to Cambodia stated that combating cybercrime, which is a global problem, requires a global response, not just one country that can solve it alone.
He said Singapore has always worked closely with relevant parties such as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Interpol, as well as the Global Anti-Fraud Coalition, which has extended its cooperation to South Africa, and is also looking to expand its membership to countries in the ASEAN region, including Cambodia.
