Phnom Penh: On May 10, 2026, Mr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, presided over the official launch of the “Live Teaching Program 2026” at Indra Devi High School.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the official launch of the Live Teaching program is a new strategic step in the digital transformation of the education sector in Cambodia to help reduce the gap in education quality between urban and rural areas by providing students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and teaching methods according to standards from highly experienced instructors in real time, even if they are in different locations.
The Deputy Prime Minister recommended that the team supporting Indra Devi School and target schools continue to collaborate with the Royal University of Phnom Penh to expand the scope of new teaching methods according to the New Generation School (NGS) standards. In addition, it is necessary to promote the production of comprehensive video lessons for teachers and student teachers, and to organize supplementary training programs for students in grades 9 to 11 in target schools to ensure that the rate of students passing the secondary school diploma is higher than the national average.

The Deputy Prime Minister gave recommendations to the Department of Education and Youth and sports in all 25 capitals and provinces to continue to promote and encourage students across the country to increase self-study and take advantage of digital technologies, such as learning through Live Teaching and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as an effective tool to help them learn and improve their foreign language skills.
The combination of student efforts with the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and Live Teaching will help prepare all Cambodian students to be fully capable of competing in the digital economy and make a significant contribution to the development of human resources for the nation’s future.
