Kampong Cham: Mr. Un Chanda, President of the Kampong Cham Red Cross Branch, on May 18, 2026, led members to bring gifts to Samdech Kittipritbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, to 35 families affected by the storm, living in 4 communes in Chamkar Leu district.

According to Mr. Touch Chhai, Executive Director of the Kampong Cham Red Cross, the storm occurred at 10 pm on May 16, 2026 at which time there was rain mixed with strong gusts of wind, causing houses in the four communes, roofs and roof tiles to be severely, moderately and lightly damaged.

During the meeting with the people, Mr. Un Chanda expressed his condolences to the families of the victims for the unexpected natural disaster and delivered a speech of sympathy from Dr. Neth Savoeun, Honorary President of the branch, and especially from Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross. The Samdech always pays attention to the welfare of the victims and vulnerable people, regardless of caste, religion, or political affiliation. Even though the Samdech did not personally attend, he always sent representatives to intervene, provide rescue assistance, and help alleviate suffering in a timely manner in line with the slogan “Where there is suffering, there is the Cambodian Red Cross.” .

Please note that the gifts given to the 35 affected families include 25 kg of rice, 1 box of noodles, 1 box of fish, 1 box of fish sauce, 1 box of soy sauce, 1 box of luxury water, 1 box of V-Active, and 1 kit for each family. The funds were provided to residents whose homes were damaged, divided according to the extent of the damage caused by the disaster.
