Preah Vihear Provincial Administration announces appointment of new provincial treasury director to strengthen transparency and efficiency of public financial management

Preah Vihear Province: The Ministry of Economy and Finance, together with the Preah Vihear Provincial Administration, organized a ceremony to officially announce Mr. Chea Socheat as the new Provincial Treasury Director, with the aim of promoting and strengthening the Royal Government of Cambodia’s public financial management reform program to be more transparent and accountable.

The inauguration ceremony was held solemnly at the Preah Vihear Provincial Hall on May 18, 2026  under the high chairmanship of His Excellency Van Puthipol, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and a high representative of His Excellency Professor Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Prak Sovann, Chairman of the Provincial Council, and Mr. Kim Rithy, Governor of the Preah Vihear Provincial Government, as well as many civil servants and representatives of departments and units around the province.

On that occasion, Mr. Van Puthipol thanked and expressed his deep appreciation for the former Treasury Director As well as all provincial treasury officials who have devoted their energy and efforts to fulfilling public financial management duties for the Preah Vihear provincial administration, achieving excellent results in the past.

To continue the sustainability of the work and improve the national budget management standards, the Presidium provided important recommendations to Mr. Chea Socheat, the new provincial treasury director, on a number of priority tasks. 3 include:
Strengthening internal solidarity, increasing cooperation and solidarity between leaders and civil servants at all levels in the organization to create an effective working environment.
Increasing close cooperation, strengthening relations and close cooperation with the provincial administration and all departments and units around the province to ensure smooth implementation of budget work.
Ensuring transparency and reform, paying high attention to transparent national budget management and promoting the implementation of the strategy of the Public Financial Management Reform Program of the Royal Government of Cambodia to be more effective and responsive to actual development needs in the province.

The current changes and appointments are a normal administrative mechanism, but they are an important strategic step by the Ministry of Economy and Finance to modernize sub-national institutions to ensure that the use of national funds and the provision of public services in Preah Vihear province are carried out with accuracy, transparency, and in line with socio-economic development goals.
