Samdech Techo pleased with Cambodia-Turkey relations

Phnom Penh: Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the acting head of state, expressed great satisfaction with the progress of relations between the two countries.

Mr. Chea Thirith, spokesman for the Senate, said after the meeting between Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Mr. Mesoth The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Cambodia, Ercan, visited the country to present his credentials on May 19, 2026, stating that Samdech Techo was pleased with the progress of relations between the two countries, both within the framework of the executive and legislative institutions that the two countries have established together.

The spokesperson said, “In the past, the two countries have had flights together. And there are embassies in each country, which clearly shows the value of the bilateral relationship between Cambodia and Turkey.” 

According to the spokesperson, Samdech Techo thanked Turkey for its past contributions to Cambodia, especially in helping to train Cambodian human resources, and the two sides still have many potentials to be further strengthened in order to make cooperation between the two countries stronger.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador pledged to do his best to further strengthen this relationship.
