Samdech Techo agrees that Cambodia and Greece share a long history

Phnom Penh: Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the acting head of state of Cambodia, agreed with the new Greek ambassador’s statement that Cambodia and Greece share a long history.

Mr. Chea Thirith, the spokesman for the Senate, made the statement after Samdech Techo allowed Ms. Magadalini Nicolaou, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Cambodia, presented her credentials on May 19, 2026. She said that Cambodia and Greece have similar histories and histories of development, as countries with a long history. She said that the same applies to the great culture and civilization, which is a point that Madam is interested in and further expanded during her mission as Ambassador to Cambodia.

The Senate spokesperson added that in response, Samdech Techo expressed satisfaction and agreed with Madam’s remarks, especially regarding the two countries that share a long history.

Mr. Chea Thirith stated that “Samdech Techo also recognized that although the two countries have a long history and rich cultural civilizations, it is true that Greece can be considered a country older than Cambodia and rich in culture, and a country that has had many scholars.”
