Phnom Penh: On May 19, 2026, Mr. Sok Soken, Minister of Inspection and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Youth House for Cambodia-China Friendship (YHCCF), chaired and delivered the closing speech of the “Contemporary Cambodia Magazine Discussion Forum 2026” under the theme “Contemporary Cambodia in the Context of Changing Global Context”. The forum was organized by the Youth House for Cambodia-China Friendship in cooperation with the Center for the Development of Cambodia and Modern World Magazine, with the participation of Cambodian and Chinese leaders, representatives of the Chinese Embassy, diplomats, speakers, researchers, young people of the Socialist Republic of Cambodia, and many students.
At the outset, the Minister highly appreciated the initiative of this forum, which is an important driving force in connecting young leaders, promoting youth exchanges, culture and research to strengthen friendship and practical cooperation between the people and people of Cambodia and China.
At the same time, the Minister highlighted Cambodia’s historical evolution from a country once ravaged by war to a country at full peace under the introduction of the “win-win policy” of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and currently, under the visionary leadership of Samdech Maha Prasad Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Cambodia is continuing to promote resilient national development through the “Pentagon Strategy – Phase 1”.
The Minister highlighted the rapidly evolving global context, which is facing high uncertainty and geopolitical competition.
At the same time, HE the Minister provided a strategic vision focusing on upholding the rules-based international order, continuing to invest in youth potential, education and research, increasing cultural exchanges and people-to-people connections, as well as strengthening the multilateral system, regional cooperation and peaceful coexistence.
Finally, His Excellency the Minister expressed his high confidence that this forum will continue to grow as a strong foundation in promoting knowledge exchange, cultivating a sense of shared responsibility, and strengthening Cambodia-China friendship to be more stable and bear proud fruits in the future.
