Phnom Penh: Ms. Vladanka Andreeva, the United Nations (UN) Coordinator in Cambodia, supports the Cambodian mechanism for the peaceful resolution of the Cambodian-Thailand border dispute.

Vladanka Andreeva’s support on the occasion of the President Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, granted permission to meet with the Prime Minister on the morning of June 4, 2026. During the meeting, the President of the National Assembly briefed her on the latest developments regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute and Cambodia’s decision to ratify the Law of the Sea as well as the use of the Compulsory Conciliation mechanism under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

The President emphasized Cambodia’s strong and unwavering position in resolving border issues peacefully. Based on international law, relevant conventions, treaties and existing bilateral agreements.


Regarding the remarks of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms. Vladanka Andreeva expressed full support for Cambodia’s position on peace and peaceful resolution of issues based on international law. She emphasized and expressed confidence on behalf of the United Nations that the two neighboring countries, Cambodia and Thailand, will resolve this dispute peacefully, in accordance with the spirit of the United Nations Charter and international law, for the common benefit of the people of both countries.
