Minister of Environment: Cambodia ranked number 1 for the best natural environment in the world

Phnom Penh: Dr. Eang Sophallet, Minister of Environment, said that Cambodia has the honor of being ranked number 1 as the country with the best natural environment in the world, as recently assessed by US News & World Report.

On the occasion of presiding over the celebration of National Environment Day and World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, on June 5, 2026, at the Ministry of Environment, Dr. Eang Sophallet said that this result clearly reflects the success of the joint efforts of stakeholders from all sectors, especially sub-national administrations and local authorities at all levels. Please note that in the survey report and global ranking of U.S. News & World Report ranked more than 100 countries based on key global characteristics: good environmental stewardship and clean air, sustainable management of natural resources, and effective efforts to conserve biodiversity.
