Minister of Education: Regarding the border issue, no matter what the situation, students’ education must not be disrupted

Preah Vihear: Mr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, said that regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border issue, no matter what the situation, students’ studies must not be missed.

At a ceremony to give a lecture and textbooks for the preparation of the secondary school diploma exam to students in Preah Vihear province on June 10, 2026, the Deputy Prime Minister deeply appreciated and thanked teachers and territorial authorities at all levels who have devoted their efforts to fulfilling the task of training human resources in the border areas despite facing difficulties and changes in the border security situation in the past.

In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister said: “No matter what the situation, the education of our students must not be missed. Therefore, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has prepared temporary classrooms to continue students’ education under any circumstances, aiming to ensure equity and educational environment in line with the government’s five-pronged strategy.”

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister wishes all Cambodian citizens to continue to trust the Royal Government under the wise leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Maha Prasad Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, who always pay close attention to the well-being of the army and all people to ensure peace and sustainable development. He also urged all grade 12 students to pay attention to self-study and use the exam preparation books that the ministry provided today, practice and strengthen their abilities to achieve successful results and good grades in the upcoming secondary school diploma exam as a potential bamboo branch of the nation.

Please note that the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has also provided some materials, food and funds to the principals of high schools in Preah Vihear province and the displaced students.
