The Ministry of Labor, the Embassy, and the Cambodian community in South Korea organize the “Khmer Community Friendship Football Tournament”

Republic of Korea: On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, the Embassy of Cambodia in the Republic of Korea, and the Royal Society, in collaboration with the Emsan District Administration of the Republic of Korea, organized the “1st Cambodian Community Friendship Football Tournament in the Republic of Korea 2026” event, with 21 teams from various regions competing on a football field in Emsan District, the Republic of Korea.

The event was attended by Mr. Seng Sakda, Secretary of State and representative of Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, Mr. Khuon Phonrattanak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Soum Saroeun, President of the Royal Society, Mr. Jo Byung-wook, Governor of Imsan District, Mr. Kim Yong-ho, Member of the Imsan District Assembly, Mr. Shin Hye-sup, Commissioner of the Chungbuk Provincial Police, Imsan District Inspector, Imsan District Foreign Workers Support Center, philanthropists and members of the Cambodian community in Korea, totaling approximately 2,000 people.

This event was organized under the spirit of “Together for Solidarity, Health, Community Support and Sports” to strengthen solidarity and friendship, creating opportunities for Cambodian community members, workers, students and Cambodian workers living, working and studying in the Republic of Korea to meet and develop good relationships, even though they are far from their homeland. In addition, during this event, the embassy also offers public services, mobile job counseling, and free health screenings to help Cambodian citizens.

The friendly football match demonstrated the discipline, morality, and dignity of Cambodian youth to the international community and the host country through honest competition, not just focused on winning or losing, but as a bridge of understanding and tolerance. and tolerance for each other (Fair Play).

This event is not only a sports competition to find a champion, but it is an event that shows the true care and cooperation for the Khmer family in the Republic of Korea.
