The Prime Minister affirmed Cambodia’s stance to resolve the Cambodia-Thailand border issue peacefully based on international law.

Phnom Penh: Samdech Thibault Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, told the US Deputy Secretary of State about Cambodia’s position in resolving the Cambodia-Thailand border issue peacefully and based on international law.

Statement by Prime Minister Hun Sen on the occasion of granting a courtesy call and working discussions to Christopher Landau, Deputy Secretary of State of the United States, on June 9, 2026, on the occasion of an official visit and participation in the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi, the capital of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

On that occasion, the Prime Minister briefed the Deputy Minister on the latest developments in the Cambodian-Thailand border situation and emphasized Cambodia’s determination and position to resolve this border issue peacefully, based on international law and in accordance with existing conventions, treaties and agreements between Cambodia and Thailand.
