The President encourages Cambodian, Lao and Vietnamese youth to establish regular communication mechanisms

Phnom Penh: Samdech Maha Vajiralongkorn, Prime Minister of Cambodia, has encouraged Cambodian-Lao-Vietnamese youth to establish regular communication mechanisms to maintain solidarity, friendship and continue the tradition of good relations.

The encouragement of His Excellency President Hun Sen on the occasion of allowing Mr. Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth League, to meet and discuss work on June 9, 2026, on the occasion of his official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and participation in the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) in Hanoi.

On the occasion of this meeting, Mr. Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth League, respectfully informed His Excellency about the fruitful results of the recent work meeting between the Cambodian People’s Party’s central youth and the youth of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth League Central Committee, where the youth groups of the two countries agreed to jointly organize events and activities, especially in border provinces. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2027.

In response, the President emphasized that the relationship between the youth of the two countries is an important foundation for Cambodia-Vietnam relations. The President encouraged Cambodian-Vietnamese youth as well as Cambodian-Laos-Vietnamese youth to establish mechanisms for regular communication, especially every year, to maintain solidarity, friendship and continue the tradition of good relations left by the previous leaders of the two countries.

The President Expressed full support for the initiative of the youth of the two countries to organize programs and activities in a grand manner to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Vietnam next year.

The President added that at the government level, the two countries have also agreed to organize joint activities and events to make this historic event more rich, grand and meaningful.
