Minister of Health: Construction of Pediatrics Building Symbolizes and Strengthens Cambodia’s Vision

Phnom Penh: Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, said that the construction of the Pediatric Surgery Building of the National Children’s Hospital is not just a building, but a symbol and strengthening of Cambodia’s vision that all children will receive safe and successful life-saving services. So let’s all build the future of the nation by helping save children’s lives.

 
At the groundbreaking ceremony for the Pediatrics Building of the National Children’s Hospital, which is supported by the Association of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 15, 2026 at the National Children’s Hospital Professor Chheang Ra highlighted that the greatest merit that benefits the world is saving lives, especially babies and children. Therefore, these merits become a lasting achievement, the benefits of which from building and healing are sustainable for future generations.

 
On that occasion, the Minister praised the efforts of the Association of Churches of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Latter-day Saints who focused on saving lives. This is a symbol of pure love, a humanitarian heart, and support for the health sector in the past and in the future, especially helping to strengthen the quality, infrastructure, and new medical equipment of the National Children’s Hospital and many other hospitals across the country.

 
Professor Minister instructed all hospitals to give priority Of thinking about developing services for children and infants, especially to be better in all hospitals, as children and infants are the future of the nation. The Minister instructed hospitals to prepare a plan in advance, including a master plan, building construction, process plan, hospital development plan, and the level of return on investment, in order to facilitate the mobilization of public sector investment and development partners to participate and support.

 
Seize the opportunity The Minister recommended that health officials focus on strengthening service quality and professional ethics, providing services without discrimination, managing and maintaining achievements, maintaining buildings and equipment when new buildings are built, and expanding the scope of the equity fund.
 

Please note that the Pediatric Surgery Building of the National Children’s Hospital, which is to be built at a cost of $5,200,000, is scheduled to be completed in August 2027 as part of the project to strengthen the surgical capacity of the Children’s Hospital. Through this building, it will be a further innovation in providing quality health services, modernizing medical facilities and services, aiming to improve the health of children and the well-being of the Cambodian people.
