Phnom Penh: Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, said that health officials must focus on three important points: professional ethics, empathy and the rule of doing the right thing.

At the opening ceremony of the training course on “Hospitality of health workers towards patients with professional ethics is the value of health services” at Calmette Hospital, the Minister of Health said that three important points that health workers must remember and implement are: professional ethics is a way of living a good and professional life and respecting the rights between service providers and patients, empathy to do everything for patients, understanding patients, and the rule of doing the right thing for oneself as a professional, which is a code of conduct.

The Minister emphasized that all health officials must do everything for patients because this is serving with ethics, which is fulfilling a noble mission as a professional.
The Minister said that the topic must be raised to share important and core values that support the health mission, especially to increase and gain trust from citizens who are recipients of health services at health units. Hospitality is widely used everywhere and at all times in service organizations.

Currently, the Royal Government of Cambodia is paying the highest attention to the implementation of “good hospitality” in all sectors, especially in ministries and state institutions. The word “hospitality” is a short word but has a very broad meaning, meaning “the act of showing hospitality”.
