Pursat Provincial Administration officially puts into use solar power poles connecting the border point of Pursat City to Phnom Kravanh District with a tree planting campaign

The ceremony was held under the high chairmanship of Mr. Khoy Rida, Governor of the Provincial Government and Head of the Royal Government Working Group to Help the Locals of Pursat City, and Mr. Yim Viseth, President of the Electricity Authority of Cambodia and Head of the Royal Government Working Group to Help the Locals of Phnom Kravanh District, along with leaders of departments and units and a large number of citizens.

On that occasion, Mr. Koy Rida highlighted that the project to install 34 kilometers of solar power poles from Road No. 155 (the intersection point of Lach) to the wooden house is an important step. We are not stopping here, we plan to continue to install an additional 33 kilometers, passing through the Tep Oknha Monument, Khleang Mueang, Wat Luang and the Orange Circle to ensure that all major roads in the province are adequately lit at night.

The provincial governor said that he has high expectations for the planting of peacock trees by promoting their cultivation. At 6 a.m. on Road No. 155, National Road No. 55 and other major roads in the province, in 2026, by 2027, Pursat province will have a beautiful green landscape mixed with beautiful flowers, providing cool shade for travelers. 

Mr. Khoy Rida informed that The benefits of solar lights are that they help increase safety when traveling at night, reduce theft and traffic accidents, and use clean energy that costs less. At the same time, the peacock tree that we are all promoting will help reduce heat, purify the air, and create a green aesthetic that makes the area attractive and comfortable. His Excellency called on all citizens to participate in maintaining environmental cleanliness, protecting light poles and newly planted trees for the common good.

It should be noted that this project was successful due to the full support of Mr. Keo Rattanak, Minister of Mines and Energy and Chairman of the Royal Government Working Group to Help the Local Governments of Pursat Province And active support from Dr. Praang Chalsa, the Royal Government Delegate in charge of the Director General of Electricity of Cambodia and the Chairman of the Royal Government Working Group to assist the local communities in Krakor and Kandieng districts, as well as the Royal Government Working Group to assist in cities, districts, communes, and sanctuaries throughout the province. Previously, the provincial administration had also installed LED solar lights on the section of National Road No. 5 from the Kampong Chhnang border to Battambang province.

On the same day, the provincial governor also continued to visit traders at the Leach market, donating pork and beef to citizens and moto-dup drivers. As well as continuing to review the progress of improving the educational environment at “Samdech Ov Samdech Me Secondary School” to ensure that both public services and education in the province continue to improve.
