Phnom Penh: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said that peace is the foundation of everything, because without peace, there can be no education and development.
On the occasion of presiding over the opening of the 39th World Girl Scouts Convention and the 42nd Annual Meeting of The Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS) 2026 on June 16, 2026, the Prime Minister said that Cambodia is truly honored to host this meeting, which is a good opportunity to showcase its potential to foreign friends.
The Prime Minister said, “You can see the progress and peace in Cambodia. Peace is the foundation of everything. Without peace, we cannot talk about education, development, women’s participation or the future of youth.” .
The Prime Minister added that because of this peace, Cambodia has been able to rebuild its infrastructure, increase job opportunities, increase educational opportunities, promote social welfare, and open its doors to international friends to share knowledge, experience, and friendship with the Cambodian people.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Cambodia hosting the 39th World Girl Scouts Convention and the 42nd Annual Meeting of the community has demonstrated the international community’s confidence in Cambodia and is a good opportunity for Cambodia to join the global movement to promote leadership, social service, and promote leadership, responsibility, and the future of girls and young women.
