Ministry of Tourism and ASEAN-China Center affirm willingness to cooperate to promote growth of Chinese tourists to Cambodia

Phnom Penh: Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and Mr. Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Center, affirmed their willingness to cooperate to promote the growth of Chinese tourists to Cambodia.

In this fruitful meeting, both sides shared the view that tourism is a key sector that helps to achieve the building of a community of shared destiny between Cambodia and China in all seasons in the new era, with high quality, high standards and high standards.

The two sides also agreed to cooperate more concretely and in-depth to attract more Chinese tourists and more active Cambodian-Chinese people-to-people exchanges in 2026, in line with the efforts and close cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, the private sector, and relevant ministries and institutions, as well as the high-level permission from the Prime Minister, who decided to grant visa exemption to Chinese people traveling to Cambodia, allowing them to stay in Cambodia for 14 days in the first trial phase of 4 months from June 15 to October 15, 2026 (during the green season in Cambodia).
