Siem Reap: The Oddar Meanchey Provincial Administration organized a ceremony to remove the statue of Vishnu sitting on the back of a donkey on the 3rd of May 2026. The Siem Reap administration also organized a ceremony to remove the statue of King Jayavarman VII and place it at Wat Reach Bor in Siem Reap.

Please recall that the statue of Vishnu sits on the back of a white elephant. It is located on the old National Road 6, roundabout, turning towards the old airport and heading towards Banteay Meanchey province. As of this time, the Siem Reap administration has prepared and arranged to receive the statue of Lord Vishnu sitting on the back of a white elephant to be placed back in its original location.
