Phnom Penh: The Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau of the Phnom Penh Military Police, in collaboration with the Sen Sok District Military Police, at 1:00 a.m. on May 1, 2026, launched an operation to crack down on a restaurant and karaoke location, the “Maha Meek” brand, located along Street 1011, Pong Pay Village, Phnom Penh Thmey Sangkat, Sen Sok District, Phnom Penh, in connection with a case of conspiracy to commit prostitution (facilitating prostitution and obtaining financial benefits from prostitution). A total of 55 people (39 women, 16 men) were arrested, evidence and some condoms were seized and sent to the Phnom Penh Military Police Headquarters for legal action.
Under the expert measures of the Phnom Penh Military Police, it was found that 5 suspects were sent to court in connection with the case of luring and persuading women to become employees. to engage in prostitution so that they can financially benefit from the prostitution of the female employees and have sent 23 female employees who receive services as sitters and engage in prostitution to the Phnom Penh Social Services Department to seek temporary rehabilitation services.
