Kandal Province: Dr. Kao Thach, Deputy Chairman of the Khsach Kandal District Party Committee and Head of Youth Affairs of Khsach Kandal District, presided over the opening ceremony of the football competition for the Professor Aun Pornmoniroth Award in Khsach Kandal District, Kandal Province on May 5, 2026.
The opening ceremony of the sports competition was also attended by Mr. Cheng Dina, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, the school management committee, teachers, students, and youth movements of the 12 communes, a total of 646 people.
The doctor said on the occasion that the organization of the sports competition today is to allow young people to play sports in solidarity. Brotherhood and happiness again after the traditional Khmer New Year, which shows the friendship and internal unity of the youth in Khsach Kandal district.
The doctor reminded that the breakdown of national unity makes our nation weak, as history shows that after the 500-year-long division during the Angkor period, the Khmer people have become weak. Therefore, young people must remember that internal unity is the force that brings victory and development. It is also associated with playing sports.
In addition, he added that playing sports shows the vitality of our nation, meaning that even though our country is currently facing the problem of war and aggression from Thailand, our economic and social processes are still going well under the leadership of Samdech Maha Vajiralongkorn, Prime Minister, and I ask you all to continue to trust our government. Especially our youth, who are the backbone and strong force to contribute to the development, will be an indispensable national defense force.
