Ministry of Foreign Affairs makes presentation to representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations after Thailand unilaterally terminates MOU-2001

Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of May 6, 2026, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ms. Eart Sophea, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, led a presentation to representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations in Cambodia following the decision of the Thai Cabinet on May 5, 2026 to unilaterally terminate the Memorandum of Understanding between Cambodia and Thailand regarding the overlapping maritime claims of the seabed (MOU-2001), signed in 2001.

The Acting Minister also updated the ambassador on the latest developments in the border issue between Cambodia and Thailand.
