Phnom Penh: The Battambang Provincial Court Prosecutor’s Office has decided to charge a suspect named Luen Saklen, a woman who smuggled durian from Thailand, with the crime of importing goods that evaded duty at the O Romduol border gate.

According to a press release from the spokesperson of the Battambang Provincial Court on May 8, after hearing the answers and examining the evidence in the case, the prosecution decided to charge the suspect named Prum Soknoy, alias Yada, female, 26 years old (absconded) with the crime of instigating the act of importing goods without paying tax, committed at the gate of the O Rom Duol area (cabin) in O Rom Duol commune, Phnom Proek district, Battambang province. The criminal offense is punishable under Article 28 of the Criminal Code and Article 75 of the Customs Law.

The suspect, named Luen Saklen, a 31-year-old female (arrested), is a woman who posted a video talking about durian and drew criticism from her and her associates for allegedly importing goods without paying tax at the gate of the O Rom Duol area (Kabin) in O Rom Duol commune, Phnom Proek district, Battambang province, on April 17, 19 and 21, 2026. The criminal offense is punishable under Article 75 of the Customs Law.

Please note that the name Luen Saklen ordered durian from the name Prum Soknoy, who ordered three times, the first time on April 17, the second time on April 19, and the third time on April 21, 2026. All three imported goods were hidden, unauthorized, and did not pay customs duties. Later, on May 4, 2026, the Economic Crimes Police Office of the Battambang Provincial Police Department conducted an investigation and brought in one suspect, Mueun Saklen, a 31-year-old female, for questioning.
