Kampong Speu Provincial Military Police crack down on nearly 1 kilogram of drugs, arrest 1 suspect

Kampong Speu: Provincial Military Police launched an operation to crack down on drug trafficking in Samrong District, arresting one offender and seizing nearly 1 kilogram of drugs and some evidence.

The operation was carried out under the strict leadership of General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Military Police, Dr. Cheam Chansophorn, Governor of Kampong Speu Province, and Brigadier General Meng Srun, Commander of the Royal Cambodian Military Police, under the coordination of the procedure by Mr. Sin Virak, Prosecutor of the Kampong Speu Provincial Court.

According to a report from the Kampong Speu Provincial Military Police Headquarters, on the afternoon of May 7, 2026, the Chbar Mon City Military Police Base Force cracked down on one drug case in O Veng Village, Ka Heang Commune, Samrong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province.

Lt. Thi Chhaim, commander of Chbar Mon city, said that the military police arrested a suspect named Kong Panha, 24 years old, with an unspecified occupation, currently residing in Roka Thom village, Roka Thom Sangkat, Chbar Mon city, Kampong Speu province, and seized evidence including: 14 large packages of crystal methamphetamine, suspected to be a drug, 1 motorcycle, 1 mobile phone, 1 weighing scale, drug bags, and some drug paraphernalia.

Currently, the above suspect, along with the evidence, has been filed by the Anti-Drug Bureau in the Crime Suppression and Investigation Department of the Kampong Speu Provincial Military Police Headquarters, and a case has been filed with the Kampong Speu Provincial Court for legal action.
