Phnom Penh: More than 1,400 former workers from Thailand and citizens participated in the Employment, Social Security and Vocational Training Forum held in Oddar Meanchey province on May 8-9, 2026.
Mr. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, confirmed on May 11 that the employment forum was attended by more than 1,400 former Cambodian workers from Thailand and citizens who were invited to find jobs, as well as learn more about the benefits of the social security regime and opportunities to attend free technical and vocational training courses.
He said that on that occasion, former workers from Thailand and citizens registered for a total of 26 skills, while a total of 132 employees from large companies, factories, and enterprises went to advertise job opportunities. and recruit local labor.
Mr. Sun Mesa emphasized: “Continuing to hold job forums in the provinces is a consideration of the Royal Government, with His Excellency Minister Heng Sour as the Chief of Staff, to provide job opportunities to local citizens to further improve their living conditions. Therefore, please invite citizens and former workers to attend this job forum in large numbers.”
The spokesperson called on former Cambodian workers who returned from Thailand and Cambodian citizens who did not attend this job forum to contact 1297, where Ministry of Labor officials are waiting to answer your calls 7 days a week, to receive job opportunities and free technical and vocational training.
It is also worth noting that up to now, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has organized a total of 603 job forums. Which provided job opportunities to more than 650,000 Cambodians and former workers who returned from Thailand.
