National Festival Committee recommends organizing royal celebrations to celebrate the King’s birthday

Phnom Penh: The National Committee for Organizing National and International Holidays has issued instructions to ministries and state institutions to organize the royal birthday celebration of His Majesty the King of Cambodia, who turns 73 and enters his 74th year, which will take place on May 14, 2026.

The guidelines of the National Committee for Organizing National and International Holidays state that every year, the Royal Government of Cambodia, together with the Royal Family, leaders, civil servants, all ministries, State Secretariats, institutions and administrations in the capital and provinces, as well as the people across the country, always organize and celebrate the royal birthday celebration of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, in accordance with ancient royal customs, considering the royal birthday celebration to be a great and noble occasion.

On the occasion of His Majesty’s birthday, the National Committee for Organizing National and International Festivals has instructed the Ministry of the Royal Palace to organize the royal birthday celebration in accordance with the royal tradition and in accordance with the wishes of His Majesty the King.

For the Ministry of Cults and Religion, please pay homage to Samdech Preah Akka Maha Sangha Rajachathipdei, His Eminence Nand Nget and Samdech Preah Abhisirey Sokunthea Maha Sangha Rajachathipdei, His Eminence Bur Kry, to seek His Majesty’s advice, organize a delegation of monks and lead the delegation of monks to present His Majesty the Lord of Life on Earth.

The Ministry of Information shall instruct national and private radio and television channels to widely broadcast the biography and activities of His Majesty the Lord of Life on Earth. It is His Majesty’s pleasure to visit and meet directly with the monks and His people.

The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts shall instruct all cultural departments in the capital and provinces to organize groups of classical and contemporary arts and music to perform and entertain the people in public places. For the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Economy, help facilitate the handling of materials and funds in an appropriate and timely manner.

In particular, the provincial and capital administrations must organize the royal birthday celebrations with the presence of monks, leaders, civil servants from departments, units, cities, districts, khans, communes, and sangkats, as well as the people. At the same time, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of National Defense must help guide their subordinate units to cooperate in protecting and maintaining security, social order, and traffic. For the National Committee for Organizing National and International Holidays, organize programs to visit patients undergoing treatment in hospitals and the elderly who are helpless.
