Phnom Penh: Samdech Theipatei Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, told the representative of the President of Azerbaijan that Cambodia is diversifying its cooperation with countries around the world.

The statement of President Hun Sen on the occasion of allowing Mr. Elchin Amirbayov, Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Special Affairs, and his colleagues to pay a courtesy call and discuss work at the Peace Palace on May 11, 2026.
On the occasion of this meeting, the Presidential Envoy said that Azerbaijan is seeking new opportunities to promote cooperation in many potential areas, as well as to strengthen public-private relations, especially expanding the potential of economic and trade cooperation.
At the same time, he also brought the invitation letter from His Excellency the President of Azerbaijan to the President to attend the Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to be held in Azerbaijan in 2026.

In response, the King highlighted that the growth of this friendship is an important opportunity to promote stronger and deeper cooperation between the two countries. At the same time, the King also noted that the two countries still have much scope to increase cooperation in various potential areas to provide mutual benefits to the nations and people of both countries. The President emphasized that “Cambodia is diversifying its cooperation with countries around the world.”
The President and the Vice President also discussed strengthening and expanding cooperation in key areas including politics, economy, trade, energy, tourism, culture, education, and agriculture, and discussed promoting relations between the private and private sectors of the two countries through organizing business-to-business meetings and business forums, etc., to explore investment opportunities and further increase trade between the two countries.
