Phnom Penh: The National Assembly unanimously approved the draft law on military conscription with 114 votes in favor out of 114. The approval was made during the extraordinary session of the 7th legislature on the morning of May 12.
The draft law, consisting of 8 chapters and 20 articles, is designed to implement the new Article 49 of the Cambodian Constitution.

Please note that Cambodia has a law On Military Duty in 2006 and other related legal documents, but the Royal Government claims that the 2006 Law on Military Duty does not yet cover all aspects of the present and future, which requires the preparation of this law again.
