Mr. Chhay Rithsen invites to a meeting with civil servants retiring in 2026 from the Ministry of Rural Development

Phnom Penh: Mr. Chhay Rithsen, Minister of Rural Development, on the morning of May 12, 2026, presided over a meeting with civil servants who retired in 2026 from the Ministry of Rural Development.

Through a report by Mr. Phal Soksamnang, Director of the Department of Administration and Personnel, it was stated Currently, the Ministry of Rural Development has a total of 1,573 civil servants and contract officers, both at the ministry headquarters and in the provincial and capital rural development departments. As of September 1, 2025, until May 1, 2026, there were 28 retired civil servants, of which 10 were from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and 18 from the provincial and capital rural development departments.

During the ceremony, Mr. Chhay Riththi Sen delivered a heartfelt speech. And blessings from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State and President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Kittipritbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, and Samdech Mahapavorthai Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and all the leaders, civil servants, and retired civil servants.

Seizing the opportunity, the Minister highlighted the exemplary heroism and sacrifice of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Father of Peace of Cambodia, former Prime Minister, and many other national heroes in liberating the country from the flames of civil war, protecting its territorial integrity, and developing the country to progress steadily under the roof of complete peace throughout the country. Under the wise leadership of His Excellency President Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the current Royal Government in the 7th term of the National Assembly has continued to maintain peace and develop the country in all sectors through the implementation of the first phase of the Five-Point Strategy to achieve the Cambodian Vision 2050 as a high-income country.

At the same time, the Minister further stated that The achievements of the Royal Government, as well as the achievements of the Ministry of Rural Development in the past, stem from the contributions of retired civil servants who have devoted their physical strength, mind, wisdom, and spirit with professionalism and high responsibility to participate in the development of the country, especially the development of rural areas across the country. The Minister also continued to mention that this gathering is also an expression of the Ministry’s gratitude and care for all retirees who have sacrificed for the cause of the nation and the homeland.

In response, Mr. Sok Kunthea, former Deputy Director of the Rural Water Supply Department of the Ministry of Rural Development, expressed his gratitude to the Minister and expressed his immense pride in fulfilling his duties honestly and with all his strength. At the end of the ceremony, the Minister presented administrative certificates and souvenirs, as well as valuable funds from His Majesty the Prime Minister and His Excellency the Doctor, to all retirees in a very happy and friendly atmosphere.
