Phnom Penh: Mr. Chhay Rithsen, Minister of Rural Development, on the morning of May 12, 2026, presided over a meeting with civil servants who retired in 2026 from the Ministry of Rural Development.
Through a report by Mr. Phal Soksamnang, Director of the Department of Administration and Personnel, it was stated Currently, the Ministry of Rural Development has a total of 1,573 civil servants and contract officers, both at the ministry headquarters and in the provincial and capital rural development departments. As of September 1, 2025, until May 1, 2026, there were 28 retired civil servants, of which 10 were from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and 18 from the provincial and capital rural development departments.

Under the wise leadership of His Excellency President Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the current Royal Government in the 7th term of the National Assembly has continued to maintain peace and develop the country in all sectors through the implementation of the first phase of the Five-Point Strategy to achieve the Cambodian Vision 2050 as a high-income country.
At the same time, the Minister further stated that The achievements of the Royal Government, as well as the achievements of the Ministry of Rural Development in the past, stem from the contributions of retired civil servants who have devoted their physical strength, mind, wisdom, and spirit with professionalism and high responsibility to participate in the development of the country, especially the development of rural areas across the country. The Minister also continued to mention that this gathering is also an expression of the Ministry’s gratitude and care for all retirees who have sacrificed for the cause of the nation and the homeland.
