Pursat: From May 12 to May 15, 2026, the Pursat Provincial Tourism Department collaborated with the Skills Development Program (SDP) of Swisscontact to organize a chef training course at the Laeang Waterfall Resort Community, Pursat Province.

The training course was attended by a total of 12 participants (9 women) under the chairmanship of Mr. Miliya Sovaththi, Director of Pursat Provincial Tourism Department, Mr. Lech Saphirin, Deputy Governor of Krakor District Government, Kim Sokpich, Deputy Director of the Wildlife Sanctuary Office of the Provincial Department of Environment, Mr. Sam Prathana, Chef Trainer of the Provincial Tourism Department, Ms. Thong Sothea, Trainer of Mlop Santephap Cafe, Ms. Keo Sereyvichra, Program Coordinator, and Mr. Moul Nen, Director of the Chak Laeang Waterfall Resort Community.
The curriculum focuses on 12 main theoretical modules, including:
1. Working effectively with the team and kitchen staff
2. Implementing hygiene and discipline in the workplace
3. Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment
4. Basic cooking techniques
5. Principles and professional practices of the chef
6. Preparing egg dishes and various egg cooking methods
7. Preparing soups and sauces by type
8. Preparing soups
9. Preparing starters and salads (Khmer and international)
10. Preparing main courses
11. Preparing pasta and rice
12. Asian dessert preparation.

In addition, participants also receive key kitchen techniques, including:
• Cooking methods for various types of food
• Using standard recipes (measuring and weighing)
• The art of preparing and decorating dishes
• Cost management and saving
• Food hygiene and safety
• Preparing recipes in accordance with technical standards
• Caring for the environment through reducing plastic and managing kitchen waste

This training course has contributed significantly to strengthening professional skills in the food industry, improving the quality of tourism services And support the development of sustainable eco-tourism communities.
