Phnom Penh: Cambodia has been ranked as the country with the best natural environment in the world in 2026 in a global survey and ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
According to the Ministry of Environment’s Facebook page, the above report assessed Cambodia’s efforts to maintain a good balance between development and environmental protection, including good environmental management, providing clean air, managing natural resources, and conserving biodiversity in a sustainable manner.
Dr. Eang Sophallet, Minister of Environment, said that it is a great honor for the success of the people and Cambodia in the field of environment and natural resources on the international stage.
The Minister added that Cambodia being ranked as the country with the best natural environment in the world reflects the core factors that have led to the protection and establishment of the environmental sector by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Head of State and Acting President of the Senate. and former Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
These achievements and prestige are a valuable legacy that continues to the 7th mandate of the Royal Government under the leadership of His Excellency Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, who has continued to implement the first phase of the “Pentagon Strategy”, which has always provided high support, leadership and direction in promoting environmental protection and sustainable development in Cambodia and has created new achievements in the field of environment and natural resources for continued success.
