Phnom Penh: Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, was invited to attend the launch of the “European Union – Here with You” campaign organized by the European Union Embassy in Cambodia with Mr. Igor Trisman, Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia, including Mr. Huot Hay, Deputy Governor, Mr. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, leaders from relevant institutions, national and international guests, and many members of the public at Chaktomuk Pedestrian Street, Phnom Penh.

The program is designed to demonstrate the strong strategic partnership and good cooperation between Cambodia and the European Union, and to reflect the EU’s support for Cambodia, especially through youth relations, cultural exchanges, tourism, arts and creative activities, etc.

On this occasion, the Minister emphasized that tourism is a priority sector and an important economic pillar of the Royal Government of Cambodia, in line with the Pentagon Strategy, Phase 1, and stated that Cambodia is a safe, warm, hospitable and rich tourist destination with cultural, historical and natural potential that continues to attract tourists from around the world.

Meanwhile, the Minister also invited national and international tourists to visit Cambodia during the green season from May to October to gain new experiences with beautiful green landscapes, rich culture, and many special offers on accommodation, food, and travel, in line with the green season’s slogan “6 Musts”:

1. Must see: Admire the natural scenery, lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and lush green meadows.
2. Must stay: Relax in a guesthouse, resort, or hotel filled with fresh air and with special discounts.
3. Must taste: Try local cuisine, fresh fruits, and specialty drinks during the rainy season.
4. Must visit: Explore heritage sites, nature reserves, and ecotourism communities (such as the Angkor region, Mondulkiri, or Ratanakiri provinces).
5. Must try: Experience jungle trekking, boating, bird watching, and exploring indigenous cultures.
6. Worth buying: Buy handicrafts, natural products, and souvenirs from local communities.
