Mr. Khuon Phonrattanak attends the Buddhist lotus procession event in central Seoul

Phnom Penh: Cambodian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Khuon Phonrattanak, and his wife, along with embassy officials, on the afternoon of May 16, 2026, were invited to participate in the Buddhist Lantern Parade/ Lotus Lantern Festival 2026 organized by the Lotus Lantern Preservation Committee of the Republic of Korea under the sponsorship of Seoul City Hall and the Chokesa Buddhist Temple Committee of the Republic of Korea.

The program also attracted more than 500,000 Koreans and foreign tourists along the main avenues in central Seoul.

The Cambodian parade was led and organized by Ven. Rin Saro, abbot of Wat Khmer Fa Sang and the Cambodian community in the Republic of Korea, prepared a parade with the motto of the nation, religion, and king, accompanied by traditional dances.

In addition to displaying the Khmer Buddhist lanterns, the Cambodian parade also showcased its rich culture, such as royal clothing, wedding attire, and traditional Khmer dance. Bassac and leather dances were also well received and left the audience appreciative and awed by Cambodia’s traditional culture.
