Authorities close traffic, use detours, and open traffic on the steel bridge over the Me Teuk River

Phnom Penh: The Department of Public Works and Transport of Pursat Province on May 18, 2026 issued a notice on the closure of the gravel road and the opening of the steel bridge over the Me Teuk River in Veal Veng, Pursat Province.

According to the announcement, due to the weather conditions of continuous rain and strong water flow, the gravel road crossing the Me Teuk River at kilometer number 171+697 in Thma Da commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province has started to erode and become unusable.

At the same time, the repair and strengthening of the steel belt bridge, carried out by the Pursat Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport, has also been completed. To ensure public safety and prevent possible risks, the Department of Public Works and Transport of Pursat Province would like to inform you that the gravel road crossing the Me Teuk River will be closed to traffic from now on. The steel bridge will be opened instead.
