Stung Treng: Dr. Kao Thach, the Royal Government Delegate in charge of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) and President of the Techo Farmers Network Association, on the afternoon of May 19, 2026, requested farmers from some district associations in Stung Treng province to change their agricultural habits by focusing on enhancing higher productivity, both in terms of product quality and safety, through the use of natural fertilizers and compost in the context of rising prices of agricultural chemical fertilizers in the world and in Cambodia.

This was mentioned to the above farmers by Dr. Kao Thach on the occasion of an invitation to meet with farmers from the O’Pang Maan community and farmers from a district in Stung Treng province, approximately 100 people.

After listening to the concerns and comments about the agricultural sector and the market, the delegate reiterated that agriculture is a common concern for our farmers, not just our brothers and sisters in Stung Treng province, and the three major issues that farmers are facing are: first, money problems, technical problems, and marketing, etc.

To solve all these problems, Dr. Dang explained that farming is very tiring for farmers, not easy, but profitable only if we do it honestly and meticulously, including growing vegetables, cashews, and raising animals. Farmers must know how to find the profit or loss for 1 unit or the cost per hectare. If we cannot find the cost of production, our farmers will become a debt trap, making their lives even poorer.

In addition, the key to solving the above problems is that the Techo Farmers Network Association can first act as a bridge for you to cross, facilitate and guide you to connect to financial sources (ARDB Bank), secondly, as a bridge between buyers and sellers by providing regular information, thirdly, as a bridge for technical and other problems, fourthly, as a bridge for your voice to be heard throughout the country and reach the leadership, and fifthly, as a shield or umbrella to help protect you from any abuse and exploitation, which is also protected by law.
